RTCW COOP → Bug reports → I can't launch the game
Hello, I'm a new player, I just downloaded the game but it doesn't work, Here is the message and my main folder:
it looks like you extracted the coop zip file into the main folder, you should extract it in the rtcw installation folder
so that the 'coopmain' folder is at the same level as the 'main' folder
Works good now thanks, there is no server on the list ?
Yeah today I launched more than a server and none appeared on the internet list though they appeared on lan (Yes i double checked it was "yes, over internet") is there something wrong with the servers
did you forward the 27960 port in your router to your computer ?
Yes, I did.
my excuses, the master server wasn't running anymore
I can see 1 server now, but when I try to join they say I don't have this file : UI/menus.txt
I see you trying to join right now that error means your pk3 is somewhat different than the original i had your problem i fixed it by redownloading the game...try uninstalling the game and redoing it...but DON'T install any additional mods
MOD EDIT: no warez
MOD EDIT: no warez
I reinstall the game and still the same problem, no solution?
Try reinstalling Coop in it's own folder. Coop can run standalone.
Follow these steps.
Create a new folder in good location .../your-coop/
Then Unzip rtcwcoop-1.0.1 ZIP into it.
There you have automatically folders "/your-coop/main" and "/your-coop/coopmain"
"main" is for RTCW files and "coopmain" is for COOP files.
Go to your original RTCW game "main" folder. Copy these files and paste these files to your COOP installations "main" folder
mp_pak0.pk3
mp_pak1.pk3
mp_pak2.pk3
mp_pak3.pk3
mp_pak4.pk3
mp_pak5.pk3
mp_pakmaps0.pk3
mp_pakmaps1.pk3
mp_pakmaps2.pk3
mp_pakmaps3.pk3
mp_pakmaps4.pk3
mp_pakmaps5.pk3
mp_pakmaps6.pk3
pak0.pk3
sp_pak1.pk3
sp_pak2.pk3
sp_pak3.pk3
Done.
PS. If you are trying it with 64 bit windows version, try changing it to 32 bit. Once I had to change to 32 bit even thought my system was 64 bit for the game to work.
I don't have the pakmaps (I guess that's because I reinstalled the game and lost all the maps), it gives me the same message when I did the steps you gave me UI/menus.txt not found.
Here is my main folder:

When I open the pk3 file using Winrar, I can find ui/menus.txt in it !!
I tried to connect 2 servers myself. And I did get same error message on both. I read the console log and spotted this.

WARNING: main/mp_pak0.pk3 is present but its checksum (2863003017)

legitimate RTCW CDROM.

It basicly means we have just slightly different Pk3 files. So the server should set /sv_pure 0 to bypass it meanwhile. I think the checksum check should be little easier.
So no way to play ?
Well the server should use /sv_pure 0
I am afraid that might be the only way at the moment. Or if you can find the same download for the game that the others used, then it should work. I will ask if Fretn would put /sv_pure 0 server on so it could be used for playing if other servers did not do it.
I'm gonna ask orwa or other players using Facebook
It works just fine now when we use the same download, thanks a lot !
Ok Good to know join us as fast as possible
Good to hear. Nice work. Hopefully you will enjoy playing.
