Topic: RTCW constantly restarting
Hi.
Whenever I change resolution in RTCW COOP, the game restarts infinitively (in a loop).
Changing via config file doesn't help either.
Is this a known bug or this happens only to me?
OS: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit

I've never heard of that bug, RTheren, but I'm sure Fretn or MAN-AT-ARMS will find a fix for you.
I can try it also on another computer running Linux Mint 17.2.
So far, the bug remains
Are you running the latest version of RtCW Coop, RTheren?
Sounds like having a wrong resolution? I think not all resolutions are supported, not sure though. Sometimes bad video settings cause this sort of behavior. Try different video settings. Try making a shortcut with the settings. Perhaps you change wrong config? I do not remember Coop commands, but generally you have to also ser r_mode.
Do you get a popup where it asks you to reset to safe video settings?
Also which engine have you selected? Try selecting the other engine. Am on mobile but iirc rend2 and opengl are options. Readme should tell more. Also possibly try switching between 32 and 64 bit version.
{WeB}*GANG$TA* - Yes, the latest one.
-SSF-Sage - Changing to ANY resolution cause the loop. No pop-up. I'am using opengl, will try others.
EDIT: It does the same thing on 32 bit version.
I have seta r_mode "-1"
The other renderer does the same
Try r_mode -2
The screen resolution we all use is 1280 x 1024, RTheren, we've never had any problems. The brightness is sometimes high, but we adjust that in our settings.
I was helping a player to install the game, just a few days ago, he complained that Coop changed his desktop settings. His screen had become very bright and his resolution had changed. He got the game to run, however.
Another thing we do, RTheren, is to make sure all copies of our wolfconfig.coop.cfg are exactly the same, just like we do in Wolf ET, so that the game doesn't have any conflicts when reading them.
Changing r_mode to -2 doesn't change anything, it stays in the loop.
Tried your resolution, still the loop.
The only resolution which works is 800x600.

Maybe you can read something from those
Use /cl_renderer opengl1
Looks like you have some kind of driver issue going on there...what driver are you using?
You also have the pak from knightmare's mod, which isn't going to work.
Use the correct sp_pak4.pk3 that is included in the release zip file.
I'am using proprietary nvidia drivers 352.21
I don't use any mods.
I have few modified pk's for czech dubbing.
I'll reinstall without Czech dubbing modification, and let you know.
Try a fresh config?
Proprietary driver should support the stuff that is showing errors in console.
You can try r_hdr 0 as well.
Not sure since you gave hardly any info about your setup other than the OS.
Yes, sorry about that. My HW:
Laptop Acer Aspire E1-571G
CPU: Intel i3-2328M (2.2GHz)
GPU: NVIDIA 620M
RAM: 6GB
HDD: 750GB Samsung Spinpoint M8
Display: 15.6" HD LED LCD
Will try these tomorrow
One of our friends was trying to join our server last night, RTheren, also using a laptop. He was getting constantly kicked, due to his resolution problems, so I made him a wolfconfig.coop.cfg. .
I opened the .cfg with notepad, searched for the words "width" or "height". This helped me to find the custom resolution settings in the .cfg and I set it manually to 1366 x 768. He then put that config I made him in his RTCWCoop folder in "Documents" and also in his "rtcwcoop-1.0.1-win-x64" folder, which he has in "downloads", he was then able to join our server.
{WeB}*GANG$TA* As I mentioned earlier, changing via conf file doesn't help the situation.

Ah, that's a pity. I hope you get your RtCW Coop problems sorted soon, amigo.
So far, I've changed pak's for the original ones. Nothing.
I'll try FULL reinstallation, then let you know
What Desktop/Window Manager is it?
What SDL version do you have?
Did you try deleting/renaming your config to generate a fresh one?
I have Unity / Compiz
SDL ver. 2
Many times, many times...
If you get no joy from any method you try, RTheren, then there's always the method we use in order to fix/install RtCW Coop installs for others and that is Teamviwer:

Thanks for all your help, but I think, I'll leave it.
It may fix itself, or I'll fix it somehow later
Thanks for your answers and keep this game alive
