Topic: csrss.exe takes anormal CPU during rtcwcoop_ded.exe

Hi,

I've tried to run on a dedicated computer @home, a server of COOP ( http://et.splatterladder.com/?mod=serve … idx=743936 )

All is fine, but when rtcwcoop_ded.exe take 20% CPU, I see the kernel Windows process 'csrss.exe' taking the same amount of CPU !!!

Maybe it is due to my system (Windows XP SP3) but I often run an ETDED.exe (silentmod,jaymod,etpro,etnam) I never see this behaviour.

After googling the problem, it can appear with "console" applications, and yes : coop server runs in a MS-DOS box but ET server does not. Some infos tell me to upgrade video-drivers, but they are up-to-date.

Does anyone encounter the same problem please ?

When I run a home server I make it non-dedicated, $mart bro. We had it set to "nightmare" last and it ran great with 3 players, but when Masa joined us we had problems with crashes at the hectic parts of various maps. We'll just need to find some cash to buy our own RTCW COOP server big_smile .

The only solution I see is recreated the dedicated console q3,rtcw,ET has, but this involves a lot of changes, so it wont be for the next update (or the one after)

OK no problem, maybe my soultion is to use a better hardware xD
(the box is a Pentium 3 at 1.4GHz and 512MB ...)
Probably on a recent machine it will run at 2% CPU instead xD

Coop will always take more cpu than any other rtcw since at ai respawn it takes 128 slots and SP was never meant as MP so it takes heavier impact on hardware as it counts much more things thus uses more cpu cycles then regular stuff. But on new hardware it shouldn't really be a problem.

Right nate, my P3 is burning !!! (on the other hand, maybe on Linux this CPU will be enough for COOP , I will try one day xD )

yes on linux there will not be an additional process taking the same amount of cpu as rtcwcoop
